New Opportunity as an Environmental Apprentice

Don’t miss this exciting opportunity for an environmental apprenticeship

Be one of eleven young people offered the opportunity to learn new skills with a view to developing a career in the environmental sector.

You could find yourself working with the Wildlife Trust for Sheffield and Rotherham, the Ranger Service, the River Stewardship Company, Tinsley Tree Project or the Steel Valley Project on practical conservation tasks, working with schools and communities on green spaces, habitat creation and ecology.

To qualify you need to be aged 16-18 and be registered as not in employment, education or training (NEET).

You will also need to complete a 7 week Young Rangers ‘Pre-apprenticeship’ course at Heeley City Farm (8th November – 6th January Tuesday to Friday, 9.30 am – 3 pm) where you will gain:  

    
work experience in tree felling, woodland skills, hedge laying, and much more

      
an ABC Level 1 Diploma in Practical Countryside Skills

      
Young Rangers Certificates
